The first three important stages of baby’s growth
Babies development and stages :
From the day your baby has born till the sixth month your baby should be fed only on Mothers milk, if not then infant formula. Mothers milk is the most important aspect of your babies life as it contains all the necessary nutrients but today as we know women body today are not capable of producing milk and hence the infant formula should be used which meets the requirement of your babies nutrition. Until six months it is important but even after the six months when your baby has started eating solid foods, mother milk or infant formula is still needed for proper growth and nutrition.
Six months onwards :
Solid food should be introduced as your babies meal since it is the time for baby for slowly feel and start the chewing activity. Also baby food is rich in iron and from this age you baby needs this nutrient for proper growth which only baby food can meet this need.
The process of introducing solid food should be simple. Start by giving solid baby food once a day and slowly twice and then keep increasing as per your baby’s needs. A good range of nutrient fortified baby rice cereal baby food feeding is important. While the beginning of this stage babies tend to push the food away while feeding but eventually after some trials you baby will accept to eat. Feed your baby solid food in-between the milk feedings. Babies will manage to eat soft and thicker textures by now. Encourage your baby to chew more and you may also introduce fruit purees as well. Eat with your babies so that your baby will learn by looking at you and this is what try to learn from you at this stage.
Eight months onwards :
This is stage when your baby will start to eat by themselves, although it will be very messy but you should encourage them for doing so. Now from this age your baby rely maximum on solid food. Babies are active at this stage so they need that extra nutrients from Baby food which can provide them extra carbohydrates for energy, protein and calcium for tissue and bone building and various other vitamins and minerals for internal developments. Gradually your baby’s meal time will be same as the rest of the family’s time. Slowly increase the quantity of your baby’s food also.
Ten months onwards :
This is the stage when you should let your baby guide how much food they take at each meal. Infant formula is however still important. Apart from Baby food you may also introduce light and soft snack in between meals. Since they now have small appetites you need to feed them in regular intervals. Avoid juices as much as possible since they may lead to tooth decay.
